Bangladesh on Sunday (August 29) recorded 89 more deaths and 3, 948 new cases from coronavirus or Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

As of now some 26,015 died of coronavirus in Bangladesh. On the other hand, the total number of infections stands at 1,493,537.

A press notification of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed this information this afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 6,466 people have recovered from the deadly virus. Till date, 1,415,697 people have recovered from the virus in the country.

A total of 27,921 samples were tested in different laboratories across the country during this period. So far, some 8,869,393 samples were tested in the country.

The current positivity rate is 14.14 percent while the positivity rate is 16.84 percent in terms of total sample tests.

Bangladesh first detected Covid-19 on March 8, last year. The first death from the virus was registered after 10 days of first infection.
